Retirement and Nursing Home Visit

The positive effect provided by companion animals for long term care individuals is well known, and we provide this with a twist, bringing one of our beautiful birds of prey to meet everyone! 


What to Expect

We bring along one of two birds, either our beautiful Harris' Hawk, or our wonderfully adorable Lanner Falcon. Working with each resident's individual requirements and abilities, the birds can be held on the fist to share the wonder of these animals, or can be held close for those who would rather just view these birds up close and personal. We can travel to individual rooms with you for private or small group visits, or we can join a larger group in a common room. 

If you are looking for a flying experience, this is a possibility either at your site, or you can join us at the farm where seating can be provided at the flying field. The flying field is accessible by wheelchair. Long-line flights may be available where it is unsafe to free fly. 

Good things to know about our Home Visits

• Retirement and nursing home visits run 7 days a week.

• We can take requests on which bird is brought for the visit, but cannot guarantee which will be able to come due to the nature of live animals.

• Cheques are accepted on the day of the visit, made out to Emily Wrenshall, or we can accept e-transfer or credit card.

• Outdoor flying experiences are seasonally available from May to September.

• Safety of the area for free flying is evaluated on the day of the experience upon arrival. 

• Family members visiting are welcome to join in.

• Photos and questions are welcome through the entire session.

• For any flying experiences, due to their outdoor nature, our experiences are weather dependent. We will contact you to notify you of the possibility of rescheduling to your back-up date.
